The Director, Commercial Supply Chain is a newly created position established as a result of Amerigen’s rising ANDA approval and commercial product launch rates anticipated and is responsible for coordinating all activities and maintaining all relationships required to assure the timely and compliant manufacture of all Amerigen products for commercial USA market distribution at its internal affiliated manufacturing sites (i.e. Suzhou Amerigen Pharmaceutical Company, Suzhou, China – “SAPCL”) and external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO’s), Contract Packaging Operations (CPO’s) and Contract Testing Labs (CTL’s).

Specific Responsibilities

Establish and direct the Commercial Supply Chain operation at Amerigen including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Amerigen’s Business Development (BD), Research & Development (R&D) and Regulatory Assurance (RA) groups to efficiently & effectively transfer all supply chain management to the Commercial Supply Chain group at the time of product process validation & commercial launch of each Amerigen product.
  • Work collaboratively with Amerigen’s BD and Sales & Marketing (Sales) groups to determine market supply forecasts/needs, including required safety stock.
  • Coordinate all activities with Amerigen CMO’s, CPO’s, CTL’s and SAPCL to assure timely and compliant supply of all required commercial product to Amerigen’s 3rd Party Logistics Provider (3PL) or to other designated sites as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Proven & successful commercial supply chain management record within the pharmaceutical industry including Generic Drug product experience.
  • Overall pharmaceutical industry knowledge, including appropriate industry contacts, intimate knowledge of the US generic drug commercial supply chain and distribution processes, working knowledge of the US generic drug approval, regulatory and manufacturing processes and cGMP compliance regulations.
  • Excellent project management, people management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency with respect to achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated respect for pharmaceutical cGMP’s and product quality standards.
  • Fluent in English.

Education Background:

  • Pharmaceutical Science or related scientific or Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management or business equivalent. Bachelors Degree required, MBA preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial supply chain management. Generic oral solid dosage (OSD) form experience preferred. Experience in both growth and mid-sized pharmaceutical companies an asset.

Computer Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other database systems etc.

Other Requirements:

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as necessary to satisfy the duties and obligations of the position. Compensation for this position recognizes the criticality of this cornerstone hire and will include bonus and long-term equity participation.
